Blog #4

There have been several times that I've been afraid to do research. Most often it's because I don't want to research the topic at hand because it is not something that interests me, but also because researching is a tiresome task. You have to go from different sources and make sure that none of the sources contradict each other. You also have to be careful that all the sources are legitimate and sometimes you teacher will force you to find a book source, now let's be honest here, I don't care how much a person reads or enjoys books the majority of the information he or she gets is from the internet and barely ever from an actual book source. While I enjoy books as much as the next guy, they're a little outdated as a primary source of information. People don't even get their news from newspapers anymore, it's either from the TV or the internet. In 7th grade I had to do a research paper on a Saint for my Theology class and wasn't allowed to use any internet sources. I spent days scouring libraries in search of books on a specific saint, one of the most difficult tasks of my life. From that day forward I decided that I would only write about topics that interested me, if I'm gonna go through all the work of finding sources, it better be something worthwhile to me.
We research in one way or another every day. I personally am looking up different information on superheroes since Marvel usually comes up with a new hero on a weekly to monthly basis. I like going to their website and looking up information on their newest heroes. I also love soccer, so I like to go online and look up the stats of different teams and players that I like, for example the English soccer team Chelsea, my favorite team and the team I follow on a daily basis. These are different examples of how I "research" in my life.

Little Darth Vader Volkswagen Commercial

This commercial is about a little kid dressed up as Darth Vader and going around trying to used the force to move things. He keeps trying until in the end the little kid tries it on his dad's Volkswagen and to the kid's surprise the car turns on. Little does the kid know that it was really his dad that used the remote start on his key to start the car. The kid gets all excited and runs back into his house thinking he's used the force.
I believe that this is intended for an audience of parents with young children. It's for parents who want a nice comfortable yet luxurious looking Sedan that their children will like but is not too expensive at the same time. You can see the Dad get very happy when the little kid gets excited after thinking he's turned the car on and overall that is what a parent wants. The creator feels that people will by that care because it is a nice looking car that both they and their children will enjoy.

Blog #2

This picture may seem like just a random photo of The Avengers, but to me it means so much more than that. For starters I love comic books, not only is my favorite comic The Avengers but my favorite comic book character is Captain America. I like to think that I am Captain America. The best Captain America quote to describe me is one Captain America's arch nemesis Red Skull turns to him and says "What makes you so special?" and Captain America answers back with, "I'm nothing special, I'm just a skinny kid from Brooklyn." There is so much irony in this line because he's a huge guy and he protects everyone from evil. I'm really nothing special, I'm skinny, kind of short and not very strong, but I'm protective and will never back down. I'm true to who I am and nothing will change that, I'm trustworthy and kind and all my friends know that they can come to me for anything.
Speaking of friends, the other reason why this photo means so much to me is because it's a photo of The Avengers, a group of the greatest superheroes around that banded together to defeat any kind of evil. They take care of each other and will lay everything on the line for each other. This is a perfect way to describe my group of friends. We're more than just friends, we're brothers. We would do anything for each other and would step in front of a bullet for each other without any sort of hesitation. I seriously couldn't find a better picture to describe us all than getting an actual picture of all of us dressed up as superheroes... One day, hopefully when I finish making my comic book!
